The monthly LEGO club at the library is this Saturday, September 24th, from 10:30 to 11:30 am. We supply the LEGOs, you supply the imagination. All creations made will be displayed in the library until the next LEGO club meets.
On Friday, September 23rd, the library will provide self-directed activities, games, and crafts for kids. So if you are bored with nothing to do on this no-school day, come to the library between the hours of 9 am and 4:30 pm. Do a craft, play a game, or participate in other fun activities. Come when you can, stay as long as you wish during the library’s open hours.
Monday, September 19th, marks the beginning of the fall sessions of story time. Mondays at 9:30 am, baby and toddler story time takes place. This 20-minute session is geared for children birth to age three. Mondays and Wednesdays at 10 am, preschool story time takes place. These sessions last approximately 35 minutes and are geared for children age three to five. Tuesdays at 6:30 pm, night time tales takes place. This 35-minute preschool session is geared for children age three to five. If you can not make the morning sessions of preschool story time, come in the evening! All three sessions are the same!
The 2nd annual Community Book Read is quickly arriving. The opening event will be Friday, October 14th, featuring author Ginny Gilder, an Olympic medalist in rowing. This year’s book is “The Boys in the Boat”, which is about the USA 1936 men’s rowing team, who won a gold medal at the Berlin Olympics – against all odds. There are books available at the library if you have not read it yet. You do not have to read the book to participate in the events. There are also flyers available at the library with the schedule of events.
